Fresno police are still trying to find out why a man took three lives including his own earlier this month. Chief Jerry Dyer says Lawrence Jones was mentally disturbed when he shot several people at a meat processing plant.

A psychologist report from 2004 reveals Jones suffered from "intermittent explosive disorder with poly-substance dependence." Police say Jones had marijuana in his system the day he opened fire at the "valley protein" plant.

A full toxicology report is still in progress. Police are waiting to interview one victim who remains hospitalized.

Chief dyer concedes we may never know exactly what motivated the shooting.
