It was the quick action of a newspaper editor that helped deputies find Kalvin Cardenas. Linda Renn works with the Dinuba Sentinel.

She recognized the brown truck being described in the kidnapping. Renn did a story back in May with similar circumstances. Renn called sheriff's detectives and gave them the suspect's name. The Sheriff called Renn this morning thanking her for the help.

"I'm proud of the Dinuba Sentinel. The fact that we're doing our job and putting all the facts of the story. I made a phone call. That's all I did...I just made a phone call," said Renn.

Kalvin Cardenas was arrested and booked in May on suspicion of luring a child into his truck.

He was also charged with having a loaded gun.
