An orphaned dog found this week in a stolen car is getting the salon treatment, in the hopes of finding a new home.

This poodle was found by police officers when they were called to check out an abandoned car that turned out to be stolen. The dog had been in the hot car for at least a half hour, with the windows rolled up, and was lying motionless on the rear floorboard. Police Captain Lydia Carrasco took on fostering the dog, and on Friday the pooch got some t-l-c at the groomers.

Laura Kerns from the Artistic Pet salon said, "We help out any little dog that we can that needs to be adopted. We work with a lot of the rescue groups, just to make sure that the dogs are more adoptable. Cleaner dogs are usually more adoptable dogs, especially is they have a cute little haircut that's attractive to potential adopters."

And the prospects look good for him. Officials say there's been lots of interest from potential new owners.
