Escaped Fresno County Inmate Captured by US Marshals

U.S. Marshal Albert Najera, of the Eastern District of California announced today the capture of escaped Fresno County inmate Thanousone Volarat.

Volarat was found hiding in a clothes hamper in a home in Southern California.

Task Force Officers and Deputies from the Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 33-year-old Volarat with the help from Drug Enforcement Administration and the Fresno County Sheriff's Office when they tracked Volarat to a Garden Grove home after his well planned and executed escape.

The task force began surveillance of the home once the findings of their investigation of Volarat's location became clearer.

Volarat has been in custody since 2011 awaiting trial on federal drug charges additional escape charges are forthcoming.

Authorities say 32 year old Thanousone Volart escaped out a bathroom door at the medical facility on Monday and was picked up by someone driving a red Honda.
