FYI Director of Aviation Resigns

The city of Fresno announced the resignation of Director of Aviation Russ Widmar on Friday.

Widmar has served as the city's Director of Aviation since April of 2004. City manager Mark Scott said the city will conduct a national search to replace him.

In his 8 plus years of service. He is credited with the expansion of flights in and out of FYI, the addition of a 2-megawatt solar system on airport grounds, and the installation of the distinctive "Sequoiascape" in the airport terminal.

Widmer's last day will be September 30th.
