A man living in Old Fig Garden says political connections are keeping an illegal animal shelter operational. He's been fighting it for over ten years and no action has been taken.

The house is on Maroa Avenue and is owned by Suzanne Pashayan. She's the sister of former U.S. Representative Chip Pashayan.

Ron Millar lives next door. He says there are well over 200 animals being kept inside the no-kill shelter.

The Pashayan Foundation is a registered non-profit, but residents in Old Fig are only allowed to own three dogs.

An order to vacate the animals came and went on October 1st. County officials say Suzanne Pashayan has another 30 days to remove the animals before the matter goes before the courts.
