Only one seat up for grabs for the Fresno City Council. The race to represent District 2 is shaping up to be a close one.
Pat DiCicco and Steve Brandau oppose each other. Yet both men have similar views.
Both candidates are small business owners. DiCicco is known for his chain of Italian restaurants. Brandau runs a carpet cleaning business.
Both men say they want to cut red tape at city hall to make life in Fresno easier for small businesses. They believe giving businesses incentives to operate in the city will boost the economy.
DiCicco is supported by current councilman Sal Quintero. Brandau has the support of council president Clint Olivier.
A KSEE24 Facebook poll showed most voters are undecided for the District 2 election. However another poll showed both candidates are in touch with potential constituents. Respondents said "jobs/economy" was the issue most important to them.
District 2 encompasses northwest Fresno. Roughly put; it's everything east of Highway 99, north of Shaw, and west of Highway 41.
