A scare for dozens of students this morning from Sanger Unified School District when the school bus they were riding in was involved in an accident.

It happened just before 7:30 at Fowler and Church avenues in Fresno County. Investigators say the driver of a Toyota truck stopped at a stop sign at the intersection and then pulled out in front of the bus. The bus was going about 40 miles an hour at the time of impact.

Fortunately none of the 52 students on board were injured.

"I don't know why he pulled out. Maybe he thought it was a 4 way stop and thought the bus was going to stop. As you can see the intersection is clearly marked. It does say cross traffic does not stop."

The driver of the truck and a child in that truck were taken to the hospital. The child has been released. The driver is still hospitalized complaining of chest pains.

As for the 52 students, another bus came to pick them up and took them to their schools.
