Fresno Looking for HSR Consultants

June 29, 2012 Updated Jun 29, 2012 at 1:15 PM PDT

(Press Release) The city of Fresno is soliciting consultants to prepare a Master Plan for the downtown High Speed Rail Station Area that will enable Fresno to maximize the local economic benefits from the High Speed Rail system.

The Request for Proposals, is available for download at www.fresno.gov, seeks to create a station area financing plan, business attraction and support strategy, transportation plan, and other components within the new Station Area Master Plan.

The Master Plan will chart Fresno’s strategy to turn the state and federal investment in high-speed rail into job growth, wealth creation, and downtown development that enriches the community for decades to come.

“We envision a world-class high speed rail station, one that builds on our efforts to revitalize our downtown core and stimulates economic activity in the area around the station,” Mayor Ashley Swearengin said. “I encourage those private sector companies, locally and throughout the country, with experience in the elements of station area planning to respond to this Request for Proposal.”

Proposals are invited until July 30, 2012. Complete project details and proposal submittal instructions are contained in the Request for Proposals.
