Christopher Shell turned 29 today, and unfortunately, he had a birthday he’ll never forget.
Shell boarded a US Airways flight this morning in Philadelphia bound for Dallas. Unbeknownst to him, a friend prank called Philadelphia police to report that Shell was carrying a "dangerous substance."
The FBI, Philly police and US Airways made the decision for the plane to return to Philadelphia, where Shell was removed from the plane in handcuffs. When authorities pieced together what happened, they released Shell, saying he had committed no crimes and would not be charged with any.
His "friend," however, faces several serious charges, according to police.
