(Press Release) Wednesday night the Fresno Police Department received a 9-1-1 call regarding a person firing a shotgun in a neighborhood. Several southeast patrol officers and members of the Southeast District Crime Suppression Team quickly arrived at the scene.

During their investigation, officers learned about two possible locations where the person(s) involved may be found. The Southeast District Crime Suppression Team served two search warrants at two homes near Claremont and Dayton Avenues.

Officers found numerous Bulldog gang members and evidence of the firing of a firearm, which included pieces of a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition. 18-year-old Ruben Anthony Diaz was arrested for negligent discharge of a firearm and a gang enhancement. Police say he was recently released from the Fresno County Jail for an additional weapons violation and waiting for court proceedings on those separate open charges.

While at the homes, officers also arrested 21-year-old Michael Ohano for a probation violation, and a juvenile Bulldog gang member was arrested for an open felony warrant and booked into Fresno County Juvenile Hall.
