(NBC Washington) Gas prices are above the $4 mark for the second day in a row in the District.

According to AAA, the average sits at $4.02, and even jumped a fraction of a penny overnight.

In May 2011, News4 reported the price of gas at the now-infamous Exxon station near the Watergate.

At that time, gas was selling for $5.09 for regular, $5.19 for plus and $5.29 for supreme. This came at a time when the average price per gallon in D.C. was $4.16. With all the talk about the recent spike in gas prices across the country, it made sense to check back in on the Exxon station along Virginia Avenue NW.

What are customers being asked to pay now? How about $5.39 for regular, $5.49 for plus and $5.69 for supreme.
