San Francisco Giants fans near and far honored the 2012 World Champions Wednesday. For those of us who couldn't make it to Market Street in San Francisco for this, the local sports grill was the next best thing.
Bill Lovely's been a Giants fan for nearly 60 years.
All he needed for to celebrate was a beer and a tri-tip sandwich from Dog House Grill.
He says this year's World Series title for the Giants is sweeter than the last.
"It don't get old. Not when you're a fan for 50 years. It's just sad that all the greats like Mays, McCovey, Cepeda, Marachal, never got to experience that."
Vic Toznovsky was a catcher with the Giants Class C ball club here in Fresno.
He would later play for the 1966 world champion Baltimore Orioles, which coincidentally was the last team before this year's Giants, to score back-to-back shutouts in a World Series.
By the way, the Orioles swept the Dodgers that year.
The Giants parade reminds Roznovsky of his Orioles' victory march 46 years ago.
He still wears his championship ring today.
"It was very exciting to see the fans that supported you all year. They sort of got something back that they felt like they were doing something worthwhile."
The Fresno Grizzlies also took part in the Giants' victory parade...
After all, 17 of the giants 25-man championship roster are former Grizzlies, a testament to the organization's farm-grown talent.
This is the second victory parade in three years for the Giants.
The organization will launch a quest for back to back titles in 2013.
Opening day for Major League Baseball is March 31st.
The Grizzlies are currently working on a deal to bring the World Series trophy to Fresno, so that fans can take pictures with it just like they did in 2010.
