(WBBH) A team of Good Samaritans saved a man's life Wednesday night after a car ran him over.

Deputies say around 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, 45-year-old motorcyclist Mark Clark was driving in Lehigh Acres, Florida when he clipped a car.

He ended up lying in the road when deputies say an oncoming car pinned the man to the ground.

Witnesses at the crash scene jumped into action. Among them was neighbor Jeffey McClain, who says he heard the crash.

"I heard a bang and knew at it was a wreck," he said.

He saw that Clark had been tossed from his bike and was lying in the street.

Despite witnesses trying to stop it from happening, deputies say another driver hit the rider.

"I knew something had to be done and I knew something had to be done right now," McClain said.

He says he rallied about eight bystanders.

"'Let's get this up. We can't wait on anybody. We gotta get this up and save this boy if we can,'" said McClain, remembering the previous night. "We got the car probably 4-5 foot up in the air and someone hollered, 'He's out and we got him out."

Clark was badly injured - but alive.
