Gov. Jerry Brown has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, his office announced Wednesday afternoon.
In a brief statement to the press, Brown's oncologist at the University of California San Francisco, Dr. Eric Small, said, "Fortunately, this is early stage localized prostate cancer, which is being treated with a short course of conventional radiotherapy. The prognosis is excellent, and there are not expected to be any significant side effects."
