An Indiana man pleaded guilty Monday to driving intoxicated with four kids strapped to the hood of his car.
In May, Aaron S. Stefanski, 29, of Fort Wayne, roped his two sons and daughter, and the daughter of passenger Jessica A. Clark, to the hood of the car with a yellow tow strap and drove down the street, reported the Journal Gazette.
The children were between 4 and 7 years old.
Stefanski told officers, "I was only going to drive around the corner. I thought they would like it," the Journal Gazette reported, citing court documents.
Police measured Stefanski’s blood-alcohol level at more than twice the legal limit, according to court documents obtained by the Journal Gazette.
Stefanski was charged with three felony counts of neglect and one felony count of driving while intoxicated. He pleaded guilty at Allen Superior Court in Fort Wayne.
He could face up to three years in prison for each of the charges, the Journal Gazette reported. He's due for sentencing on Aug. 3
Stefanski will be required to attend parenting classes and is allowed only supervised visits with his kids.
Police caught Stefanski in the precarious act after responding to a 911 call from witnesses.
