Tent cabins at Yosemite's Curry Village have been cleared out while park rangers retrofit them to prevent visitors from getting sick from Hantavirus. According to documents acquired by KSEE24, it's a measure that could've been avoided.

From as early as 2007, state health officials have been warning Yosemite officials that they need to do more to prevent a Hantavirus outbreak.
Now, three people have gotten sick just this year. Two of them have died.

Park officials say Hantavirus hasn't been a priority because, prior to this year, there have only been two reported cases, and both of those people survived.

The tent cabins at Curry Village are closed indefinitely.
