Holding a 65th high school reunion in a funeral home may seem like a sick joke. But the octogenarians in Lincoln High School's Class of 1948 are serious when they say the venue makes perfect sense — and not only because 45 of the Wisconsin class's 378 members have died in the past year.
The location is affordable, offers easy access for the disabled and boasts ample parking.
"I'm familiar with funeral homes at this age, so it doesn't seem weird at all," class member Alice Baryenbruch notes. "As long as I can have an Old Fashioned, it doesn't matter where the reunion is. I'm looking forward to the door prizes."
