Two sisters were arrested Friday after police say they robbed a Florida hotel and then accidentally pocket-dialed the hotel, revealing their identities to the front desk clerk.
Ashlie Alewine, 22 and Nakilya Wright, 18, were arrested and charged with Robbery and Petit Theft.
Police say the robbery happened November 18th at The InnPlace Hotel on Fifth Avenue South in Naples.
Police met with the front desk clerk at the hotel who told them that a woman wearing gray sweatpants, a gray sweatshirt, sunglasses and a black bandana covering her mouth had walked in while she was making coffee.
According to the clerk, the suspect approached her and put her hands inside the front pockets of her sweater indicating that she had a weapon. The suspect demanded money from the register and escorted the clerk to the front desk.
Once the suspect left the hotel, the clerk called the Naples Police Department. While the clerk was speaking to the police dispatcher on her cell phone, the hotel's phone rang.
The clerk picked up the hotel phone and heard a conversation in the background as if the caller had inadvertently "pocket dialed" the hotel. The clerk told police she heard the voice of the suspect discussing the robbery that just happened.
She says the suspect described to another person how she took the money and the second person in the conversation asked if she left behind any fingerprints.
The clerk immediately recognized the second person's voice as Ashlie Alewine, a former employee that was fired two days before.
