A valley Olympian returned from London. Avenal's Jose Ramirez represented the U.S. proudly in lightweight division boxing.
Sadly he was eliminated in the round of 16. He lost to a boxer from Uzbekistan in a 15-11 decision. Ramirez is pegged as the "Next Golden Boy". Ramirez holds the amateur record for the most career wins at 144.
