Next time you flip through the song choices at a karaoke bar, remember to choose carefully. Your health may depend on it.

William Oller, Sr., 70, was jailed after shooting son William Jr., 50, at a residence in Shingletown, Calif.

According to the police report, on Jan. 26, Oller Jr. had been singing a Kenny Chesney country tune via karaoke when Oller Sr. left the home briefly, saying "I'm gonna shut you up." He returned with a handgun and fired multiple times at his son, striking him in the arm.

Oller Jr. was taken to the hospital, but at least one bullet remains in his shoulder. Oller Sr. was also treated for a gunshot wound and then taken to jail.

In an interview with KRCR TV in Redding, Calif., Oller Jr. says he can't remember what Chesney song he was singing at the time. He says he doesn't believe his father knew what he was doing and that recent strokes may have contributed to the elder Oller's anger.

He said in the past, his father has even coached his singing.

"He don't need to spend his last days in prison or jail," Oller Jr. says of his father. "He needs to spend them with his family.
