A man who tops the list of the valley's most wanted is at it again. Madera Sheriff's detectives say Paul Vernon Alley kidnapped a woman for ransom and then took her to Bass Lake where she barely escaped.

Madera Sheriff's detectives say it started on Sunday. Paul Vernon Alley allegedly forced a woman into his car in Fresno. The 25-year-old victim says Alley was dressed in drag. He bought camping supplies and took her to bass lake. The victim was able to get free and swim to safety.

"She just decides to jump into the lake and start swimming. A boater spotted her and picked her up and pulled her on board," said Erica Stuart with the Madera County Sheriff's Department.

The victim says she was held for ransom because her boyfriend owed alley drug money. Police are still looking for Alley and the victim was taken to a hospital and later released.
