Local vets are demanding action from state representatives to get the Fresno veterans home open now.

Veterans and advocates met at the empty home this morning in southwest Fresno. The state of the art facility is only lacking state funding to get it running.

Veterans are calling leaders to get the funding in order to speed up the process. Veterans say funding for the home needs to be more of a priority.

There are nearly 900,000 disability claims nationwide, according to the veterans administration.
