The Seaside Aquarium in Oregon received a call Friday morning about a strange fish washing ashore on the beach nearby. It turned out to be a Longnose Skate (Raja rhina). Though these skates are not uncommon in the wild, it is an unusual find for beachcombers.

It washed ashore in Seaside, Oregon after apparently dying from natural causes. It measured about 3-feet in length and "not" poisonous, posing little or no threat to humans.
