This is the sort of story that reminds us about the goodness in people. It starts in India with a 15-year-old named Lovedeep Singh.

He was part of a school group traveling to California, the plan was to go from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Instead the teenager got lost, wandering off from the group while taking photos in LA. From there, it's really a plot out of a movie script. Singh, who doesn't speak English, befriended a taxi cab driver who fed him, and bought him a bus ticket to get him to San Francisco to meet up with his group.

While on the bus, Signh got off in Merced, not knowing it was just a stop along the way and not the final destination. Merced County Sheriff Mark Pazin says Singh had been living on the streets when somehow he made it to a temple in Livingston. The people there took him in and got in touch with the Sheriff's Department. An off duty deputy with an unusual connection to the lost boy responded to the call.

"Just coincidentally a Deputy had family from the same village Lovedeep Singh is from," Sheriff Pazin said.

Despite being a little hungry and grimy, this teenager who had quite the adventure, is absolutely fine.

Sheriff Pazin said in his 30 plus years with the department, he's never seen anything like this. So after spending more than 2 weeks lost, 15-year-old Lovedeep Singh is now on his way back home to his family in India.
