A Madera woman is in custody accused of shaking a 4-month-old baby.

34-year-old Natividad Reyes was arrested Tuesday night at her Madera home. Authorities say the little boy is suffering from permanent blindness and hearing loss. He was taken to Children's Hospital Central California back on July 25th. Doctors alerted investigators of possible child abuse after examining the child.

Reyes is the boy's babysitter and next door neighbor. She's facing felony charges of inflicting injury and willful cruelty to a child.
