A former homeless man was sentenced Monday for his role in a valley murder and kidnapping.

Don Anderson was sentenced to 72 years to life in prison Monday morning. Last month Anderson surprisingly plead guilty to killing 62-year-old Michael Weiser and kidnapping his wife Donna. Police say Anderson was a homeless man who the Weisser's had taken into their home two years ago. Before sentencing a friend of the family read a statement from the wife who was kidnapped.

"Don I still love you like a family member who committed such a crime. My heart is broken for our loss but also for yours. If you had only decided to go somewhere to start a new life. Now your actions have cost you your freedom and cost my family so dearly."

The court was also presented with a letter written by the Anderson himself. He said he had no remorse for the crime. His original plan was to kill everyone in the house and that he likes killing.
