(Sun Sentinel.com) A Fort Lauderdale man stabbed an apartment visitor in the back and forced the bleeding victim to strip and get into a bathtub, police said.
Lorenzo Jones, 26, is charged with attempted felony murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment and aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony.
He was ordered held without bond in Broward County's Main Jail on Wednesday during his first appearance court hearing.
On Saturday, Jones answered the door when the victim, Nathan Benton, stopped by a Fort Lauderdale apartment along the 800 block of Northwest Third Street to visit a friend, according to a police report.
After waiting briefly for that friend, Benton decided to leave, but Jones didn't want him to and grabbed a 12-inch kitchen knife, police said.
During a struggle, Benton suffered cuts on his hands, was stabbed twice in his back and hit on the head with a bottle of vodka, the report said.
Then, police said, Jones forced Benton to strip and get into a bathroom tub.
While the wounded Benton lay in the tub bleeding, Jones barricaded the apartment and sat outside the bathroom holding the knife, the report said.
