(Press Release) 20-year-old Tyrone Parker of Fresno is being held in the Fresno County Jail for the murder of 33-year-old Dewayne Young on March 20th of last year. Young’s body was found in the middle of the street in the 3000 block of Ezie Avenue. He had been shot multiple times.
Clovis Police officers responded to calls of a disturbance and shots fired shortly after 3:00 a.m. that morning. Officers could not locate anyone involved in the disturbance at the scene. Witnesses told police they saw several cars leaving the area just after hearing gunshots.
Further investigation revealed there had been a family gathering at the house where the disturbance took place. A woman and eight children, ranging in age from 1- to 14-years-old lived there. No one inside was hurt.
Clovis Police detectives learned that Young was involved in a domestic disturbance with his wife, Parker’s sister, in front of the guests. That’s when witnesses say Parker pulled out a handgun and shot Young. Parker became part of a lengthy investigation into his whereabouts.
Clovis Police had a warrant out for Parker’s arrest. When he went to the Salinas Police Department to try to resolve a “ticket issue,” officers there saw the warrant for his arrest. They arrested Parker on the spot. He has since been transferred to the Fresno County Jail where he is being held without bail for murder.
