A house fire in Merced displaced ten residents early Monday morning. One person succumbed to injuries sustained in the fire Tuesday afternoon, while two others are still hospitalized.
Investigators are at the scene trying to determine the cause of the blaze near Green and 23rd Streets. The fire started around 5:30 a.m. Monday morning.
Ten people were living in the home. One of the residents died Tuesday afternoon. One person is still in critical condition at CRMC, while another is listed as stable. Three others were treated for smoke inhalation and released.
