It's the day before Thanksgiving, and travelers in the valley have one thing on their minds -- their holiday destination.
"Traveling from Fresno to Danville."
"San Luis Obispo area."
"My daughter lives in Petaluma, and she will meet us in Richmond."
Congested freeways in Fresno are a good example of travel in most parts of the valley. CHP officers say you could never be too cautious.
"Wear your seat belt, no speeding, give yourselves enough time and be polite while on the road."
At the Fresno airport, officials say all flights are at capacity. The day before Thanksgiving is the heaviest travel day of the year. No major hitches to report out of this airport, but things could get ugly for Ace Esad. He's headed to Los Angeles.
"I know they have a demonstration at LAX so I'm kind of nervous about the traffic they're going to have."
Train travel's been pretty smooth so far. Amtrak's looking at what may be a record number of riders. Train travelers in Fresno have been in good spirits all day.
"It's been easy to sit down and have a table and relax. Instead of driving to the bay, we'll take a train up there."
No matter how they get there, most travelers are keeping positive and thankful, they'll be home for the holidays.
"I'm going to visit my mom. It's her birthday."
"I can't wait to eat that deep fried turkey tomorrow."
"I'm 91-years-old and I just don't travel a lot out of town anymore. It was either this or have them all come to my house for thanksgiving so."
Whether you're flying taking the train or driving, make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get there. And don't forget to pack your patience.
If you're traveling on the roadways, you're asked to keep extra caution. CHP will be conducting it's thanksgiving maximum enforcement period through Sunday.
