As the great-great-granddaughter of etiquette maven Emily Post, Anna Post still preaches the virtues of good manners, especially right now with children heading back to school.

Many are taking mobile devices with them, after watching how mom and dad use them.

"Whether it's at the dinner table or in the car, or on the sidelines at a soccer match, for example, kids are absorbing how you're using your mobile devices," Post says.

She says parents should establish some digital house rules.

"And these rules should apply, not just to the kids, but to Mom and Dad, too," she notes. "So if that text comes in from the office at dinner, we have a rule about Mom or Dad can take that, as well."
