Fire Ravages Mobile Homes in Mendota

(Press Release) At about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning Fresno County Firefighters, with assistance from Firebaugh City Fire Department, responded to a mobile home fire near Oller and 11th Streets in Mendota. When the first engine arrived, one RV trailer was fully involved with several others threatened.

The fire destroyed two travel trailers, one miscellaneous outbuilding, and damaged one travel trailer. Five adults were displaced and are being assisted by Red Cross.

Investigators determined the fire originated from a vacant travel trailer, but the cause is still under investigation. Damage is estimated at $100,000. Twenty Firefighters were committed for approximately three hours mopping up hot spots. No injuries were reported.
