Mom Arrested After Toddler Shoots Self with Her Gun

Deshana Lisenby was charged with aggravated child abuse after her son shot himself with her handgun.

A 24-year-old mother has been charged with aggravated child abuse after her one-year-old son accidentally shot himself in the hand.

It happened at around 3.15pm on Saturday at Deshana Lisenby's Clarksville, Tennessee home. Her handgun had been left lying out on the coffee table, while the young child was alone in the room.

Unattended, he grabbed it and pulled the trigger, shooting himself in the hand.

The unnamed toddler was rushed to hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury.
