A new mother left her newborn baby strapped into a high chair in her dining room and then went out drinking, a police report alleges.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office report, Crystal Ricci left her three-week-old child in a high chair with a dirty diaper while she went off to drink with friends.
Ricci’s roommate eventually woke up in their Lake Worth, Florida residence to find the unattended infant and called the police.
The Palm Beach Post, citing police reports, said that Harris left her child without supervision, food, water, or clean clothes while she went out and partied.
It was only after the child’s cries woke the roommate around 5am Sunday morning that she went to go and check on the infant, noticing that his mother was nowhere in sight.
The woman attempted to call Ricci on her cell phone several times, noticing that Ricci had also taken her vehicle.
Sometime later, the woman and officers found Ricca, 32, passed out in the roommate’s car.
According to the Post, she told officers that she was drunk and could not drive home.
