Another floor at the Fresno County jail is expected to open on Saturday, September 1st.
The floor was supposed to open in April but at the time Sheriff Margaret Mims said hiring was taking longer than expected.
The floor is now set to open this saturday, which makes another 432 beds available. Sheriff mims says the opening of this floor doesn't necessarily mean early releases will stop, but she says it will certainly mitigate the numbers.
