Odyssey U-17 Girls Soccer Team Wins National Tournament

The California Odyssey Under 17 Girls Soccer Team from Clovis won the U.S. Club Soccer 2012 National Cup XI in Waukegan, Illinois on Monday.

The Odyssey opened the tournament on Friday with a 4-0 win over the Gulf Coast United Dynamo Girls from Mississippi. Their second match on Saturday was against Uppr9t Soccer Girls from North Carolina which they won 3-1. Sunday saw the team play to a 1-1 draw with Illinois' Windy City Pride, which was enough to put them through to the final.

In the final on Monday the Odyssey played the MPS Lady Knights from Massachusetts, winning 3-0.

The Odyssey qualified for the tournament after winning the Western Regional in June, and is coached by Fresno State Assistant Soccer Coach Kevin Botterill and Central High School Girls Coach Brandon Kwock.
