A Porterville man has been arrested, accused of murdering his wife.

The murder happened just after midnight on the 900 block of La Vida.

Porterville police say Krystal Garcia Nacoa died of a gunshot wound.

Three young children were home at the time, but were unharmed.

Witness statements led police to believe the victim's husband, Leonardo Nacoa was responsible.

He is now in custody.

But police say Nacoa managed to flee to Mexico.

After talking to him on the phone, officers convinced him to return.

He surrendered to Calexico police near the border, and was transferred to the Tulare County jail.
