It will be a long and difficult road for the victims and their families in the Colorado tragedy. Criminologists say there are a lot more victims outside of those killed or injured by the shooter. KSEE24 met up with Bernadette Muscat who specializes in victimology.
She says there are thousands of victims from this one tragedy, starting with family members of those killed to people who were in the theatre and even people in the community. Muscat says people cannot be pushed into healing. She says everyone deals with the trauma differently.
"The reality is who they are and how they experience life and the lens with which they look at world has drastically changed," said Muscat.
