Following the funeral, a police motorcade escorted Sgt. Piercy's casket to the Clovis Cemetery. In a touching show of community support, the procession route along Herndon Avenue was covered in red and white ribbons. Many who came to pay their respects didn't even know the Piercy family, but grieved their loss.
