Most high school teens can tell you formal dances are just around the corner. A local charity is helping foster girls look their best.
The "Assistance League of Fresno" is running a "Dream Dress Drive." They're asking for people to donate women's formal wear and accessories at their thrift store on Blackstone just south of Shaw avenue. They're open from Wednesday through Saturday from 11;00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Heald College students are making more than generous donations. Heald staff are encouraging students to give back to the community; to the tune of $15,000 worth of donations. They're also donating their time helping under-privileged girls get full makeovers.
High school winter formals usually begin in December. The dress drive will also benefit students going to prom around April, however all girls receiving dresses must be referred by a foster care group.
