It started off as a quiet trip... Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan in town for a campaign fundraiser.
But his visit to downtown Fresno sparked protests.
Republicans and democrats were out in full force at the convention center, claiming credit, and blaming each other for what this country is, and for where it's headed.
It's proof that the campaign for the White House is heating up.
That was on the outside...
On the inside, a fundraiser, much like the one Ryan came from in the Bay Area.
He's been preparing for the Vice Presidential debates during his trip to the west coast.
South valley Congressman Devin Nunes has served with Ryan.
While he believes the race will be close, he says Ryan is more than qualified.
"He's a guy who recognized a long time ago that we were going to have trillion dollar budget deficits before we had them. He knew about it, he knows the solutions. He's the guy that's put the solutions on the table, and has challenged everyone else to put their own solutions out on the table."
But local Democrats aren't buying what the Romney-Ryan campaign is selling.
Many, like Alexia Baca, are concerned about the future of health care should the Republican duo move into the white house.
"I'm really concerned that he's more interested in the very rich and the very powerful, and that's not the majority of us and that's not me, even if I'm a doctor, I'm not a rich doctor."
Sunday, Paul Ryan will be heading to oregon to meet with his advisors.
There he will be preparing for a debate with our current Vice President Joe Biden.
That debate will be taking place next month.
