(Metro UK) A restaurant in Michigan in the US has created the 'Absolutely Ridiculous Burger', weighing in at 338lb and costing $2,000 for anyone hungry enough to tackle it.

The ridiculous burger unveiled at Mallie's Sports Grill & Bar last week - which comes with a drink and a portion of chips, natch - comprises 15 pounds of lettuce, 30 pounds of bacon, 30 pounds of tomatoes and 36 pounds of cheese.

Manager Jason Jones, who revealed the meal contains 540,000 calories - 216 times an adult male's recommended daily intake - and takes 22 hours to cook, said he came up with it in an attempt to break his own Guinness World Record.

In 2008, a 134lb creation by the restaurant successfully became the planet's biggest burger, a title previously held by cooks in Thailand.
