A high speed crash near Orosi killed one person and sent several others to the hospital.
It happened around one in the morning near Avenue 416 and Road 120 just west of Orosi.
CHP officers say the driver of a Honda was travelling at a high rate of speed, when he turned left into a GMC Yukon that was heading in the same direction.
The two vehicles collided, and the driver of the Honda died at the scene.
5 other people were taken to the hospital, one of them suffered major injuries.
Also out of the south valley, a Porterville man is behind bars, accused of child endangerment and selling drugs.
Police served a search warrant at Mauricio Jamie's home yesterday on the 500 block of South Creekside ST.
They say he tried to run but detectives caught him.
Investigators say they found $40,000 dollars worth of drugs in the home, along with paraphernalia associated with selling and distribution.
They say a 2 year old was also in the home.
Jamie is now in the Tulare County Jail facing felony charges of child endangerment and possession of narcotics for sale.
