SWAT Stand-off in Fresno Ends With Arrest of Suspect

September 26, 2012 Updated Sep 27, 2012 at 5:02 PM PDT

The Fresno Police Department and a SWAT team surrounded a home near McKinley and West Avenues in Fresno for two hours Wednesday afternoon.

Police say they've been looking for 29-year-old Ulises Montes for quite some time. He is wanted on several felony warrants including robbery, domestic violence, kidnapping and making terrorist threats.

He was spotted by officers outside an apartment just off University and Channing, but he quickly went back inside. That's when police surrounded the area as a precaution.

Montes climbed to the roof of the apartment during the stand-off, but was not armed. He eventually surrendered. Police found a loaded shotgun in the apartment.
