A woman was evacuated from her Hudson, Florida home Wednesday after a sinkhole swallowed half the house.

The woman was staying at her sister's home as officials assessed the damage from the sinkhole that opened under the rear of her house.

The sinkhole is about the size of a two-car garage, and the house is a total loss, officials said.

There were no injuries at the home.

Neighbor Dave Taylor and his wife also were evacuated as a precaution.

Officials don't know if their home will be affected.

Residents have complained about sinkholes forming in the area for the past two years.
