(SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE) Starbucks is now a dumb-blonde-joke free zone, at least for employees -- this is according to the blog Starbucks Gossip.
With the launch of its new Blonde Roast this week, Starbucks has forbidden its workers from making blonde jokes, and indiscretion towards the new rule will be met with a written offense.
“We were told at a regional rally there are absolutely no blonde jokes to be told around the coffee what so ever,” posted a Starbucks employee on the blog.
The employee wrote that the regional director told approximately 100 store managers about the new rule, which was then communicated back to employees.
The Blonde Roast is a “mellow, lighter-bodied” roast and includes several different coffee blends, according to the global coffee category manager on the company’s website.
So, what do you get when you have a blonde barista and a brunette barista working together? At a Starbucks, absolutely no joke at all.
