Tactical police gear was stolen and is likely in the wrong hands. Thieves broke into a car belonging to a Madera County probation officer.
It happened Tuesday in a parking lot at Clovis East High School. A black tactical vest carrying two 15 round magazines were taken. A police radio, pepper spray, a baton, even two pairs of handcuffs were stolen. The Probation Chief says the probation officer worked with the Madera Gang Enforcement Team.
"It's always of concern because you don't want that stuff to get in the wrong hands and be used for the wrong thing. Fortunately its not his gun or bulletproof vest," said Rick Dupree, Probation Chief.
