We now know the name of the man shot and killed last night by a business owner in Madera.

Police say Aquilla Bailey was shot after he and another man tried to rob a pharmacy on Almond Avenue near Madera Community Hospital.

Police say the suspects entered the business and opened fire and a store clerk was shot in the leg. The clerk's son, the owner of the store, pulled out his own gun and returned fire.

The owner's mother has been treated and released from the hospital.

Police say as long as the firearm was purchased legally, it is unlikely the business owner will face any charges.

The search continues for the other suspect.
