Valley Athlete, Other Olympians Honored by The President in Washington, D.C.

The President and Mrs. Obama welcomed U.S. Olympians and Paralympians to the White House today, including a valley athlete who got to meet the president personally.

"Thank you for being such great role models especially for our young people, we could not be prouder of you," said the President to those were gathered.

The Obama's saluted the athletes during a ceremony on the White House south lawn. The athletes presented The President and First Lady with the American flag carried by the U.S. Team during this year's opening ceremonies in London.

The olympians won 104 medals this summer, 46 of them gold.
The paralympians on Team USA won 98 medals.

Olympic boxer Jose Ramirez of Avenal was also on hand for the event. He tweeted a few photos from the White House including one of him and the President.
